Paving the Road, Together: 8 Years as an Empowering Organization
Eight years ago, we took a bold turn — choosing to become an empowering organization.
This shift was inspired by the book Frédéric Laloux - Reinventing Organizations, a work that deeply resonated with Mr. André Morneau. When he discovered the concept of the “liberated company,” he saw the potential of a model built on trust, transparency, and individual accountability.
That reading planted a simple yet powerful idea: what if true performance came from freedom rather than control?
This marked the beginning of a cultural transformation within Groupe Morneau — a thoughtful evolution, adapted to our reality, that gave birth to what we now call our empowering organization.
A model that puts trust, collaboration, and collective intelligence at the heart of how we work.
In practical terms, it means that every team member — whether behind the wheel, in a terminal, in a workshop, or in an office — actively contributes to the decisions that shape their daily work.
Here, the best ideas belong to no one person: they emerge from the field, from open dialogue, and from the collective strength of our teams.
This profound change didn’t happen overnight. It required courage, patience, and a lot of listening. But it transformed us — bringing teams closer, encouraging knowledge sharing, and giving deeper meaning to our work.
Today, eight years later, we’re still learning. We don’t claim to be perfect — and that’s exactly what makes this human journey so meaningful.
Each year, we dedicate an entire month to revisiting this model — refining it, celebrating our successes, and learning together. Because being empowering means moving forward collectively, drawing strength from each other.
What it means in practice
Taking responsibility while acknowledging those of others.
Contributing to the collective intelligence of the group.
Allowing ourselves to try, learn, and grow.
An empowering organization is a path we continue to pave — hand in hand, with trust, respect, and openness.
Together, we keep moving forward.
