Groupe Morneau Inaugurates Its Bolton, Caledon Terminal: A Major Milestone in Its Pan-Canadian Expansion

On October 21, 2025, Groupe Morneau inaugurated its new terminal in Bolton, Caledon, marking a significant milestone in the development of its pan-Canadian network and its growing presence in Ontario and Eastern Canada.
Located along one of Ontario’s key transportation corridors, this new logistics hub brings together under one roof the Group’s three divisions — Morneau GEO (general LTL-TL transport), Morneau BOREA (refrigerated transport and warehousing), and Morneau GLOBAL (logistics and brokerage). More than 200 team members work there every day to ensure the smooth flow of operations and the quality of service offered to customers.
From a Rental Project to Long-Term Ownership
Morneau’s story in Bolton began in April 2024, when the company first occupied the site as a tenant. One year later, the Group became the official owner of the terminal — a testament to its long-term commitment to the Town of Caledon and to the strategic role Ontario plays in its growth plan.
“This terminal is more than a building. It is a symbol of trust, ambition, and collective commitment — a reflection of the road we’ve travelled and the one we will continue to build together,” said Catherine and David Morneau, Co-Presidents of Groupe Morneau.
A Dedicated Team at the Heart of Growth
Established in Ontario for several years, Groupe Morneau strengthened its presence through the acquisition of Beacon in 2019 and General Cartage in 2021, two milestones that enhanced its expertise and network in the region.
But beyond acquisitions, it is above all the dedication of its teams on the ground that has allowed the Group to build lasting roots.
“Our true drivers of success are our people. We want to thank them for their commitment, expertise, and rigor in their daily work,” said Catherine Morneau.
Thanks to their teamwork and dedication, Morneau continues to expand in Ontario on a solid foundation — one built by passionate people determined to keep moving forward, together.
A Modern and Efficient Facility
The new Bolton terminal stands out for its modern and optimized facilities:
80,000 sq. ft. of total surface area;
51 dock doors ensuring smooth freight circulation;
dedicated areas for the Group’s three divisions, improving operational efficiency;
and a design focused on safety, sustainability, and performance.
This strategic investment strengthens Morneau’s logistics capacity and helps reduce transit times between major markets in Quebec, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada.
A Memorable Day for the Company and the Community
The inauguration ceremony brought together more than 150 guests, including partners, clients, employees, and community representatives from Caledon.
Hosted by David Moore, Director of Business Solutions, the event featured several moments filled with pride and emotion.
Mayor Annette Groves delivered an inspiring address before presenting Groupe Morneau with a certificate of recognition from the Town of Caledon, highlighting the company’s contribution to local economic development and job creation.
Guests also heard from Paolo Santoriello, Regional Director, followed by Catherine and David Morneau, who emphasized the teamwork and collaboration that made the Bolton project possible.
The ceremony continued with the official ribbon-cutting, symbolizing the opening of a new chapter for the company and its long-term commitment to Ontario.
Several emblematic trucks were showcased outside the terminal, reflecting the Group’s evolution and passion over more than 80 years:
three restored antique Morneau trucks, representing the company’s beginnings in regional transport in Bas-Saint-Laurent;
"The Big Blue,” the well-known race truck from TEAM42;
the 80th-anniversary trailer, designed by artist Fluke;
and a state-of-the-art multi-temperature trailer, symbolizing the Group’s innovation and performance today.
Guests also took part in a guided tour of the logistics operations and facilities.
A photo exhibition tracing the history of Groupe Morneau — from its origins to the present day — offered visitors a chance to explore the company’s rich heritage.
The day ended on a warm and festive note, with lunch served on the loading dock.
Each guest left with a pair of Morneau socks, created in partnership with Robin des Bas, a Quebec company that donates a pair to someone in need for every pair purchased.
This meaningful gesture — both historical and human — reminded everyone that Morneau’s success is built as much on its deep roots as on its commitment to innovation and community impact.
A Lasting Commitment
With more than 80 years of history and four generations of leadership, Groupe Morneau continues to move forward guided by values of responsibility, collaboration, and sustainable growth.
“Seeing this dream come true here in Ontario is a moment of great pride for us. It was a dream our father, André Morneau, always cherished, and being able to experience it with him as the fourth generation makes this milestone even more meaningful. This terminal represents our determination to build a strong, responsible, and people-focused future,” concluded Catherine and David Morneau.
