A silver medalist in the 1000 meters at the 2022 Beijing Olympics, Laurent is currently preparing for the next Winter Games to be held in Milan in 2026. Recently, he made headlines in Quebec at the ISU World Cup Speed Skating event, where he impressively secured 2nd place in the 500 meters. He also ranked second in the overall World Cup standings for the 2023-2024 season in the same category. Laurent is recognized as one of the fastest skaters in the world.
