Morneau acquires General Cartage in Toronto

It is with great excitement that Morneau Group announces the acquisition of General Cartage, a Toronto-based LTL transportation company. This transaction is effective October 1, 2021.

Consolidation of Morneau Group's operations in Ontario

For Groupe Morneau, the acquisition of General Cartage allows it to significantly increase its presence in the Toronto and Ontario markets. Having been present in Toronto for 20 years, the Morneau Group is strengthening its position as a leader in the LTL industry in Eastern Canada.

This will help feed the regions and increase the volume of goods to and from Canada's largest city, Toronto.

In growth mode

Groupe Morneau will have more than 120 trucks on the roads of the Greater Toronto Area, all divisions combined, which will increase our service offering and our pick-up and delivery capacity. The team will also include more than 60 employees. As a result of the transaction, Groupe Morneau now has close to 1,300 employees and close to 1,600 pieces of equipment, which reinforces and confirms its position as a major company in the trucking industry.
